Unfortunately for us cockroaches have been around since the dinosaur era and will continue to be one of pest controllers worst nightmares.

Whether you own a hotel, restaurant, factory, warehouse, or café you will at least come into contact one time with these bacteria, germ infested critters.

Redline Pest Control understands how important it is the get a hold of the breeding cycle of all species of cockroaches, we first inspect, identify, and then treat your commercial premises.

Redline Pest Control will take any precautions as we know that health and safety is the number one goal when obtaining effective pest control.

Fortunately for our clients there is no odour when we carry out pest treatments internally and a very low odour for completing pest control externally.

Here at Redline Pest Control we alternate between products so cockroaches don’t build up an immunity and will we be able to effectively reduce the population and breeding cycle of the cockroach.

What are some signs that could lead to an infestation of cockroaches?

  • Live active cockroaches running around especially in the day time as they are nocturnal.
  • Droppings/smearing marks around electrical appliances, walls, cupboards and behind furniture in your premises.
  • Egg casings whether they have eggs or not.
  • A distinctive smell in the affected areas.
  • Cockroach carcases when they molt.
  • Damage to electrical appliances as they chew through wiring.

What could happen if you don’t get the cockroach issue at hand?

If you are in the food sector you really must read this part as this is vital to know especially if you are new to the food industry.

Cockroaches carry a bacteria that can be harmful to not only yourself but to your potential clients. Cockroach droppings contain the Staphylococcus, Salmonella, and streptococcus virus.

  • Loss of business when a customer sees cockroaches in your premises?
  • If council comes in you could get a fine and be placed on the NSW food registry.
  • May need to change electrical appliances as the cockroaches have chewed through them.

What are some things you can do before we get to your commercial premises?

  • Go around and seal all cracks and crevices as pests can enter even the smallest of gaps.
  • Prevent harbourage spaces. Remove any clutter, boxes, and any other items where pest can hide.
  • Inspect all stock that comes into your commercial premises for any pests as often German cockroaches and other pests are bought in from an outside source.
  • Empty all bins to the outside council bin once full and at the end of the night.
  • At the end of the night make sure that you do a full clean of all cooking equipment, utensils, benches, tables, chairs, bar area and any other area that is in your commercial premises.
  • For bar flies, midges, drain flies and any other flying insect that lives around the drains put draino or bleach down the drains to kill off any eggs which have been laid in there.

Commercial Pest Control & What Redline Pest Control Can Do For You!!!

Pest Control for all commercial food industries

Did you know that pests in commercial food industries not only will lose clients but also breach health and safety regulations here in NSW.

Eradicating pests is a high priority for commercial food industries. Unfortunately, we are hearing and seeing more and more clients who have had pest control by another pest company who have not provided an effective treatment and when the client calls the pest company will only provide a service if they pay yet again (even ineffective treatments)

Biggest Pest Problem

German cockroaches are the most common pest problem when it comes to the food sector.

Normal common cockroaches will breed every six weeks and will usually have between five to 12 baby cockroaches wherefore the German cockroach will breed every six weeks and will have between 40 to 50 baby cockroaches, so you can imagine for every female German cockroach you have an infestation very quickly.

Unfortunately, commercial food industries are a favourite place for German cockroaches as they provide an adequate source of food. With the high moisture and warm electrical appliance this makes German cockroaches thrive.

Pest Control for commercial food industries.

There are three things that must be done to ensure commercial food industries remains German cockroach free.

Firstly, ensure that all food is to be kept in airtight containers and put away in the appropriate places.

Next, at the end of each day make sure that you have a cleaning check list in place for both yourself and your employees.

  • Encourage all employees to Clean their Workstation and surrounding areas
  • Remove any water sources at the end of each day
  • At the end of the day clean any food scraps, work stations, sweep and mop the floors
  • Keep all garbage in a sealed dumpster which should be away from entry points of your premises
  • Clean outdoor eating areas daily and be sure to remove any crumbs and leftovers that will attract pests.

Finally, always be on time for your pest service as you don’t want an outbreak of pests in your commercial food industries as this will deter any potential customers and the power of social media these days could ruin your business.

Good Pest Control For Your Commercial Business!

Pest Control Sydney – Do you spray in the rain?

Pest Control Sydney –  Do you spray in the rain?

No!

Why?

Unfortunately here at Redline Pest Control we don’t spray in wet weather or break treatments up in wet weather as we don’t want your treatment to be washed away with the rain.

Whether it is light rain or heavy rain your appointment will be rescheduled if you have external areas included in your package.

Why do we reschedule the whole appointment when it rains?

We have proven methods that work and by splitting up a treatment you are not getting a full barrier against pests from entering your home.

We have tested and tried splitting treatments up when it rains and we simply don’t find that we get the best results for any treatment that has been split up.

Will you reschedule if it looks like it is going to rain?

At the end of each day and beginning of each day we check and monitor the weather in your local area and will determine if a treatment needs to be reschedule, if it is only cloudy we will still come out and perform the treatment.

What if it rains after my appointment?

If it rains within 4 hours after your appointment we will come back out to your premises and respray at no charge to you as we can’t help how the weather pans out. A note will be put in your client file that it had rained that day and that if any issues arises with pests that we will also come back out at no charge to you.

If it rains the night prior to your booking your service may be rescheduled as the ground may still be wet at the time of your booking. If the ground is wet the chemical will not bind and therefore will be ineffective and a waste of your precious hard earned money.

So can any treatments get done if it rains?

The following premises can be sprayed for pest control:

Commercial premises – as long as there are no external areas.

Units – as long as there are no external areas.

Houses – as long as there are no external areas.

German cockroaches, internal fleas, rodents, bedbugs, lice/mites.

But what can you do to keep these pesky little Ants out and away from your home.

Ants can come to even the cleanest homes.

When Ants go foraging for food they leave pheromones for other Ants to follow, so if they leave pheromones for other Ants to come and also dine on the goodies that are laying in your home is there any natural ways that you can get rid of the Ants yourself?

• Mix 1 part baking soda and 1 part icing sugar together and place in shallow lids or saucers. While the icing sugar will bring the ants to one place the baking soda will kill the ants.
• Citrus spray. When you peel a lemon, orange or other citrus keep the skin and put in a pot with 3 cups of water and 2 cup of vinegar and keep it on a low setting for around half an hour. Let the mixture set over night and pour into a spray bottle for the next time those pesky Ants decide that your kitchen is the place to be.
• Essential oils are great if you find the right one that works. Tea tree oil, peppermint oil and citrus oil works a treat. Rub the skirting boards near windows and doorframes, the side of counters and benchtops. Not only does this make your home smell gorgeous it will also deter Ants away.
• Vinegar spray is also a great way to get rid of ants, all you need is a cloth vinegar and water. 1 part water to 1 part white vinegar in a spray bottle and spray away and wipe the surface not only will it get rid of your Ants but you are also cleaning naturally.
• Chalk and flour, draw or sprinkle lines around entry points in and around your home as Ants will not cross the line, for the chalk there is a component called calcium carbonate which is seashells grounded up and will repel not only Ants but other pest like slugs and snails.
• Honey, dishwashing liquid and water. Grab a saucer or a shallow lid place a small amount of honey in the middle and add soapy water around the honey.

Ants are robust and programmed to source out food to bring back to their nest so they can feed the queen ant.

Unfortunately ants don’t discriminate and will go to homes that are clean.

Whether you have ants that are scattered or in straight lines here are some natural ways to get rid of ants?

  • Herbs such as mint, basil, thyme, lavender and rosemary are a natural deterrent as ants cannot stand the smell. Place the bouquet of herbs around doors and window frames.
  • Place cucumbers directly in the ant’s path as it will deter ants out of the kitchen.
  • Ants love eating cornmeal but unfortunately once they consume the cornmeal they will not be able to digest it and will eventually end up exploding.

  • Dilute 3 parts of vinegar and 2 parts of water in a spray bottle and start spraying those pesky little buggers.
  • Check and cracks and crevices and seal them up so there is no entry point that the ants can get through.
